Stake Review: Baccarat Tables, Odds and Terms
Stake for baccarat players: Original baccarat at 98.90% RTP, live Pragmatic and Evolution tables, VIP progress, CGA licence and who can play. October 2026.
Disclosure We may earn a commission when you click links to casinos. It never decides which tables we recommend. Editorial standards
Stake.com takes players aged 18 and up (higher if your home country sets a higher age) unless they are in one of 44 barred countries or Ontario, a list that shuts out American and British players. Its operator is Medium Rare N.V. (Curaçao registration 145353), and the licence, number OGL/2024/1451/0918 from the Curaçao Gaming Authority, can be checked in the site footer and at cga.cw. For baccarat our verdict is positive: Stake offers a provably fair in-house baccarat with a published 98.90% RTP next to a busy live section, and it has no slot-only welcome bonus that would trap a card player in wagering rules.
We rebuilt this review on 7 October 2026 from Stake’s terms of service, its baccarat lobby, the Stake Original baccarat game page and its VIP guide. Where Stake does not publish a figure, such as live table limits or withdrawal times, we leave it out rather than guess.

Who is allowed to play
Clause 14.3 of the terms holds the barred list, 44 countries plus Ontario. For baccarat readers the entries most likely to matter are the US, the UK, Ireland, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia, together with a large block of EU states: France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Poland, Greece and Cyprus among them. Sanctioned states such as Iran, North Korea and Syria are on it too, and so is Curaçao itself.
That rule covers people located in those places as well as residents. Stake says it checks device data, IP masking and blockchain activity, and an attempt to get round the list with a VPN or false location details is a breach of the agreement. A balance won from a blocked country is exactly the kind of money that gets stuck at withdrawal, so treat the list as final.
Canadian players outside Ontario are not on the list, yet provincial rules still apply to you. Elsewhere, the same logic holds: Stake not banning your country does not make online casino play legal where you live.
Checking the licence yourself
Clause 1.1 of the terms says Medium Rare N.V., with its head office at Seru Loraweg 17 B in Curaçao, is licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority under number OGL/2024/1451/0918. Payment processing can run through two Cypriot subsidiaries, Medium Rare Limited (HE 410775) and MRS Tech Ltd (HE 477481).
- Note the company and licence number from the stake.com footer or the licences page.
- Go to cga.cw, the Curaçao Gaming Authority’s own site, and open the public licence register.
- Search the company name or licence number and compare the status and domain with what Stake shows.
- A failed lookup is not proof of a lapsed licence; retry after a few days. That portal was breached twice in September 2026 (on the 17th and the 22nd) and was still down on 2 October; according to the CGA, licences already granted stay valid in the meantime.
Since 24 December 2024 Curaçao has licensed online gaming through its LOK, the National Ordinance on Games of Chance. Older reviews that mention a “Curaçao eGaming” sublicence describe a system that no longer exists.
The baccarat lobby, table by table
Stake’s casino menu has its own Baccarat category. We opened it on 7 October 2026 through a Canadian connection and recorded what it showed. Player counts move by the minute, so we list titles and studios only.
| Title in the lobby | Studio | Type | Shown from Canada? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Baccarat (Stake Original) | Stake | RNG, provably fair | Yes |
| Baccarat Lobby | Pragmatic Play | Live, many tables | Yes |
| Baccarat | Pragmatic Play | Live | Yes |
| Mega Baccarat | Pragmatic Play | Live, multiplier variant | Yes |
| Mega Sic Bac | Pragmatic Play | Live hybrid of sic bo and baccarat | Yes |
| Baccarat Squeeze | Listed under “table one” | Live squeeze table | Yes |
| Baccarat Lobby, Lightning Baccarat, XXXtreme Lightning Baccarat, Golden Wealth Baccarat, Peek Baccarat, First Person Baccarat | Evolution | Live and first-person | No, marked not available in the region |
| Japanese, Korean Speed and Hindi Baccarat, Emperor Baccarat, Lucky Baccarat | Evolution | Live, language and speed tables | No, marked not available in the region |
| Bac Bo, Dragon Dragon | Evolution | Live baccarat-style games | No, marked not available in the region |
Two practical points follow. First, the Evolution block is region-dependent: Stake shows the tiles but greys them out where its Evolution content is not licensed, so a player in one country can see a much bigger live section than a player in another. Second, several tiles are not classic punto banco. Bac Bo settles Player against Banker with dice instead of cards, and the Lightning and Mega titles add random multipliers paid for through a fee or reduced base payouts, which changes the edge. Our baccarat variants guide explains how those formats differ from the standard game.
Stake Original baccarat up close
The in-house table is the part of Stake that most crypto baccarat sites cannot copy. Stake’s game page lists three bets, with Player paying 1 to 1, Banker 0.95 to 1 and Tie 8 to 1, and quotes an overall RTP of 98.90%. Split by bet, Banker carries 1.06%, Player 1.24% and Tie 14.36%. Those are the figures you would expect from an eight-deck punto banco shoe with standard drawing rules.
Drawing follows the usual tableau. Player takes a third card with a total from 0 to 5 and holds with 6 or 7, while a natural 8 or 9 on either side ends the round at once. Banker draws on 0, 1 or 2; on 3 unless the Player’s third card was an 8; on 4 against a Player third card of 2 to 7; on 5 against 4 to 7; on 6 against 6 or 7; and stands on 7. Our rules page walks through each case with examples.
There is no dealer, no shoe and no squeeze. A round resolves the instant you bet, with manual and auto modes, so the game can run far faster than any live table. That speed is the main risk: the edge per hand is low, but the number of hands per hour is not.
How the fairness check works
Stake Originals use a server seed that Stake commits to in advance by showing its hash, a client seed that you can change, and a nonce that counts your bets. Every card drawn is derived from those three values.
- Open the Fairness panel on the baccarat game and copy two strings: the hash Stake shows for its server seed, and the client seed in use.
- Play your hands; the nonce rises by one each round.
- Rotate the seed pair, which makes Stake reveal the server seed it used.
- Run SHA-256 over the revealed seed; the output should equal the hash copied in step 1.
- Feed both seeds plus the nonce of a chosen hand into a verifier, and it rebuilds that hand card by card.
Passing the check shows Stake could not have swapped the cards after seeing your stake. The 1.06% Banker edge stays exactly where it was, and none of this covers the studio tables, where physical cards, dealing procedures and the providers’ certification do the job instead.
What the edge costs in coin terms
Baccarat edges look tiny until you multiply them by volume. Take a session of 400 hands at 0.0002 BTC each, a total of 0.08 BTC staked.
| Bet type at Stake Original baccarat | Edge (Stake’s page) | Expected loss on 0.08 BTC staked |
|---|---|---|
| Banker | 1.06% | 0.000848 BTC |
| Player | 1.24% | 0.000992 BTC |
| Tie | 14.36% | 0.011488 BTC |
Put the same 0.08 BTC through Tie and the expected cost is more than 13 times the Banker figure. Speed matters as well: at an RNG table you can easily play several hundred hands in an hour, while a live table deals far fewer. Our baccarat odds and strategy page shows why staking systems such as Martingale leave these numbers unchanged.
Live tables: what to expect
Live baccarat at Stake is supplied by outside studios rather than built in-house. Pragmatic Play’s lobby was open from our Canadian test connection; Evolution’s was listed but blocked there. Each table sets its own minimum and maximum bet, shows them before you sit down, and usually quotes them in a fiat equivalent even though your balance stays in the coin you deposited.
Stake does not publish a table of live limits, so we do not print one. The bet feed visible on the page on 7 October showed single baccarat bets of 9,000 and 12,000 dollars, which confirms that high-limit play happens there, but it tells you nothing about the minimum at a given table. Check the limit panel at the table before you plan a bankroll.
Side bets deserve the same caution as Tie. Pair bets, multiplier features and “lightning” fees typically carry far higher edges than the main Banker bet, and the paytable can differ between studios. Read the game’s info panel and work out what each extra feature costs before you use it.
Bonuses, rakeback and how baccarat counts
Most crypto casinos build their welcome match for slots and count baccarat at 0% to 10%, which makes a bonus almost useless for a card player. Stake avoids that problem by not running a standard deposit match at all. Its VIP guide mentions a welcome offer code that new players can redeem within 24 hours of signing up; the code’s own terms decide what it pays and how it clears.
Ongoing rewards come through the VIP Club, and the guide says progress comes from any casino play: live casino games, table games, slots and dice are all named. Sportsbook stakes progress you at triple the casino rate. These are the casino thresholds Stake publishes:
| Level | Casino wagering needed | Expected cost on Banker at 1.06% |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | $10,000 | about $106 |
| Silver | $50,000 | about $530 |
| Gold | $100,000 | about $1,060 |
| Platinum I | $250,000 | about $2,650 |
The right-hand column is the theoretical cost of reaching each level on the cheapest baccarat bet, not a price Stake charges. Rakeback, weekly boosts and reloads hand some of it back, yet no fixed rakeback rate appears anywhere in Stake’s own documents, and numbers quoted on other sites are guesses. Our baccarat bonus guide compares this model with match bonuses that exclude table games.
Two clauses in section 12 of the terms are worth knowing. Clause 12.3 says wagers are always placed with your cash balance before any bonus balance is used, and clause 12.10 lets Stake cancel bonuses that are not claimed within their claiming period or 60 days, whichever is shorter.
The 100% turnover rule and baccarat
Before any payout, fiat (clause 8.5) or crypto (clause 8.10), Stake wants each deposit turned over once in full. This is an anti-money-laundering rule rather than a bonus condition, and baccarat bets count towards it like any other wager.
Here is what that means in practice. Deposit 0.02 BTC and you must place 0.02 BTC of bets before you can cash out. Played on Banker, the expected cost of clearing that turnover is 0.02 x 1.06% = 0.000212 BTC, which is small next to the deposit. Played on Tie, the same turnover carries an expected cost of about 0.0029 BTC. Bet on Banker if you only want to clear the rule and move funds back to your wallet.
Funding a baccarat balance in crypto
More than 20 coins appear in Stake’s crypto guide, from Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin to stablecoins such as USDT and USDC, plus Solana, Tron and others. Your balance can be displayed in a fiat currency, but the wallet still holds the coin you sent, and its value moves with the market while you play.
- Network first: USDT and USDC run on several blockchains, and Stake’s deposit guide asks you to confirm the network before sending. Pick the chain first, then copy the address shown for that chain.
- Test transfer: send a small amount first if a network is new to you.
- Buying in: players without crypto can use the Buy Crypto option, where Stake names MoonPay and Swapped.com.
- Limits: clause 7.9 says available methods and minimum and maximum deposits are shown in the wallet and vary by country.
For baccarat, stablecoins make bankroll planning simpler, because a 1% edge is easier to track when the unit itself does not swing 5% in a day. Our guide to buying and moving crypto covers wallets, networks and fees.
Withdrawals and identity checks
Stake’s terms do not publish a payout time or a withdrawal maximum. They do set out the conditions:
- clause 8.7: the minimum withdrawal is shown when you request one;
- clause 8.8: several pending withdrawals can be rejected and combined into one request;
- clause 8.9: a discretionary withdrawal fee is possible, on top of any charge from your bank or wallet;
- clause 8.12: extra KYC checks can apply to any withdrawal.
Under clause 4.8, identity and location checks can come at any point, with documents of Stake’s choosing, and payments or withdrawals can be held until they are complete. Small crypto players often go a long time without a request, but a large baccarat win is exactly when a check is likely. Having your ID and proof of address ready avoids a stalled payout.
Limits, breaks and self-exclusion
Under the Stake Smart banner you can set loss and wager limits per day, week or month, a daily deposit limit set in US dollars, product exclusions, short breaks and self-exclusion. Tightening a limit is immediate, whereas loosening or deleting a deposit limit only takes effect after 24 hours. Crypto that arrives above your deposit limit is held back and released as the limit resets.
Fast RNG baccarat is where those tools earn their keep. A wager limit caps the volume you can push through in a day, which in turn caps the expected cost shown in the tables above. For outside help, Stake’s footer points to Gamblingtherapy.org, and Gamblers Anonymous runs meetings in many countries. Our responsible gambling page lists more support.
Complaints and disputes
Clauses 23 and 29 send complaints to customer support by live chat or at [email protected]. Clause 25 puts the agreement under Curaçao law, with the courts of Curaçao having jurisdiction.
Individual disputes are not mediated by the CGA. When Stake’s reply leaves a complaint open, you can take it to an ADR (alternative dispute resolution) body certified by the CGA, which listed seven of them on 31 August 2026. Keep hand IDs, bet history screenshots and transaction hashes from the start, because a baccarat dispute is decided on records.

Stake baccarat FAQ
Does Stake have live baccarat?
Yes, in most regions it serves. On 7 October 2026 the baccarat section listed Pragmatic Play live tables such as the Baccarat Lobby and Mega Baccarat, plus a long run of Evolution titles. From a Canadian connection the Evolution tables were marked as not available in that region, so what you see depends on where you log in.
What is the RTP of Stake Original baccarat?
Stake’s game page quotes 98.90% overall. By bet, Tie is the costly one at 14.36%, Player sits at 1.24% and Banker at 1.06%. Banker pays 0.95 to 1, Player 1 to 1 and Tie 8 to 1.
Can I verify Stake baccarat results?
Only for the in-house version. Stake Original baccarat is provably fair, so after rotating your seed pair you can check the revealed server seed against its earlier hash and rebuild each hand. Studio tables cannot be checked that way; their integrity rests on the dealing procedures and the providers’ certification.
Does baccarat count towards Stake VIP levels?
Stake’s VIP guide says you can level up through live casino games, table games, slots and every other casino game, and that a sports bet earns progress at three times the casino rate. Bronze needs 10,000 dollars of casino wagering.
Is there a welcome bonus for baccarat at Stake?
There is no standard deposit match. Stake’s VIP guide mentions a welcome offer code that new players can redeem within 24 hours of signing up, with its own terms. Ongoing value comes from rakeback, weekly boosts and reloads tied to VIP level.
Who cannot play baccarat at Stake?
Anyone located in the 44 countries or the Canadian province of Ontario named in clause 14.3 of the terms. Among them are the US, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Brazil, Mexico and most large EU markets.
